Tonight, the holiday vibes officially end as Michael Carrick leads the Reds to Merseyside for a massive clash against Everton. After that 1-1 draw with West Ham nearly two weeks ago, we’ve been itching to get back to winning ways. The stakes couldn’t be higher: since Chelsea and Aston Villa both dropped points over the weekend, a win tonight would actually catapult us back into 4th place, opening up a three-point gap in the Champions League race! Keep an eye on the lineup—while the lads looked relaxed in Dubai, all eyes are on whether Kobbie Mainoo and Matheus Cunha can hit the ground running immediately. It’s our first-ever trip to Everton’s brand-new Hill Dickinson Stadium, and there’s no better way to break it in than with three points

My XI

My lineup is includes some small changes from our last lineup against West Ham. Amad out for Sesko in my opinion. I feel like the tall Slovenian up top definitely deserves a start now. Amad have been solid since returning from the AFCON, but have failed to put his name on the scoresheet. Without Amad we probably lose some defensive contributions, but in this game I would prefer having two good crossers of the ball in Cunha and Mbuemo to put balls in the box for Sesko to get on to.
